Idiot Wind

這首歌是狄倫在1974年的夏天寫下的，當時，狄倫和他的妻子 Sara婚姻陷入了低潮，正處於分居的狀態。雖然狄倫本人曾公開表示這首歌並不是在描寫他與 Sara之間的感情問題，但狄倫的兒子 Jakob卻說，這首歌以及專輯《Blood on the tracks》裡的其他歌曲，其實都是他父母之間的對話。而從這首歌的歌詞中，你可以很明顯地察覺到，它是充滿指責與埋怨的。

1974年9月，狄倫在紐約錄製完《Blood on the tracks》後，他在11月前往明尼蘇達州拜訪他的弟弟大衛，同時狄倫也和當地的一些樂手合作，重新錄製了“ Idiot Wind ”，除了重新編曲外，狄倫也更改了歌詞，後來狄倫覺得不錯，就又重錄了專輯裡的其他幾首歌，包括 "Tangled Up in Blue"  ,"You're a Big Girl Now"  , "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts"  ,"If You See Her, Say Hello"  ，最後都被收入專輯《Blood on the tracks》中，並取代了原來的版本！然而當時專輯《Blood on the tracks》的包裝早已印製完成，所以這些參與重錄的樂手並未被註記在專輯裡。而“ Idiot Wind ”的原始版本，則是在1991年才被釋出於《The Bootleg Series vol 1-3》中。

1976年的5月23號，狄倫在科羅拉多州科林斯堡的修斯體育場演出，在演唱“ Idiot Wind ”這首歌時，狄倫的口吻明顯變得激動許多，彷彿充滿了憤怒，歌詞就像砲彈般，從狄倫的口中迸發出來。據說，當時狄倫的妻子 Sara就坐在前排觀看，而這也讓許多人相信，這就是導致狄倫激動的原因。這個版本最後被收錄在《Hard Rain》中，我認為它是所有版本中最為傑出的！非常值得一聽。

另外補充，狄倫其實是非常深愛 Sara，並極力想挽留這段婚姻的，否則就不會有“ Sad-Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands ”,"Abandoned Love"和“Sara”這些歌了。
